Coalition Working Groups (3 Pillars)
The Coalition has three thematic working groups that are responsible for the technical workplan of the Coalition:
Group 1: Research Support and Empowerment
This group focuses on providing technical support and resources for abortion research initiatives across Africa, empowering researchers with tools and methodologies.

Group 2: Research Capacity Strengthening
Dedicated to building research capabilities through training programs, mentorship, and institutional support for emerging researchers in the field.

Group 3: Research Communication and Advocacy
Focuses on translating research findings into policy recommendations and advocacy materials to influence reproductive health policies across Africa.

The Role of Research in Reform
Strong evidence is the cornerstone of abortion advocacy. Without data on the extent and outcomes of unsafe abortion, policy-makers can more easily turn a blind eye to the pressing need for reform.
